Hilton Garden Inn Marina del Rey Named Best Conversion Property

By M+E Staff

Hilton Garden Inn Marina del Rey was recently named Best Conversion property by Hilton Worldwide at its top annual development awards in the Americas. The hotel, which is owned by Pacifica Hotels, was recently converted from the former Marina International Hotel and endured an eight-month renovation before reopening its doors in June 2013.

“We are honored to be recognized by Hilton Worldwide with such a significant award,” said Matt Marquis, Pacifica Hotels president. “This property is unique in many ways, and when designed, it served as a benchmark for an innovative development concept. To be acknowledged as a hotel that achieved superior conversion for this model, we are beyond thrilled. We extend the sincerest appreciation to Hilton Worldwide and will continue to strive to make the organization proud.”

The honor follows on the heels of a recent renovation of the boutique-style hotel in Los Angeles, and recognizes the hotel for its quality level of hotel development, the impact on the Marina del Rey community, and the most efficient construction time.
