The SLS Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Beverly Hills recently completed a redesign of the rooms and guest experience just in time for its decade milestone in November 2018. All 234 guestrooms and 63 suites sport the newly reimagined look that continues to embrace elegance, with a lighter palette and character alongside the latest in technology and modern comforts. Locally inspired guest programming, revamped Garden Terrace events space, and innovated culinary and cocktail experiences round out SLS Beverly Hills’ ten-year evolution.

The room redesign by Dakota Development, Muzeo and Avenue Interior Design brings a fresh perspective to modern luxury. Oversized mirror panels and whimsical accents remain, juxtaposed with white oak, Carrara marble, and textural neutral fabrics that add to the room’s overall lighter and brighter profile.   

New elements within the guestrooms include: custom-made light boxes illuminating the hallways; Vibrant carpets; oversized abstract prints; mirror-lined walls; Handmade needlepoint pillows with classic Picasso prints; A custom-made vintage map of Los Angeles embedded on top of the media center;  

The renovation also encompasses the addition of two new suite categories: the Style Suite and the Storyseeker Suite, featuring distinct private bedroom and living areas. The 1900 square-foot Presidential Suite features four separate rooms including an expansive bedroom with an oversized closet, powder room, soaking tub, and rain shower; a study filled with a collection of L.A.-centric art and culture books; a dining room complete with a chandelier and cherry-oak dining table; and a cozy living room connected to its spacious kitchen.  

Throughout all accommodations, additional new features include USB ports and outlets, high-speed Wi-Fi routers in every room, and 55-inch high definition SMART TVs, as well as an updated bathrooms featuring a rainfall shower or oversized soaking tub, and enhanced ambient lighting.

The family-focused, Wisconsin-based Great Wolf Lodge opened its first resort in Wisconsin Dells in 1997. Over the next two decades, it slowly expanded with more properties around the Midwest, moving into the Northeast, South, West and Canada. And this summer, the greater Chicago area will get its first resort from the brand.

 

The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (L.A. Tourism) recently announced its record-setting economic impact for the previous year. Los Angeles County’s 48.5 million visitors spent an all-time high in 2017, generating a record $34.9 billion in total economic impact (including $22.7 billion spent directly in the L.A. economy).

 

The Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC), owned by the City of Los Angeles and managed by AEG Facilities, unveiled its 2.21-megawatt solar array during a press conference with Mayor Eric Garcetti.

The solar project contributes to the mission of Garcetti’s “Sustainable City pLAn” and AEG 1EARTH, AEG’s sustainability program established to reduce the company’s environmental impact.
