• Anaheim Marriott wins Four Stella Awards in 2018, breaking California Record

As of early November, Anaheim Marriott is the first hotel in California to win four Stella Awards. Andy Lakefish, the hotel’s director of sales and marketing, announced that Anaheim Marriott was recognized in the following categories:

  • Gold Award - Best On-Site Tech/WiFi - Far West
  • Silver Award - Best Food & Beverage - Far West
  • Silver Award - Best Green Initiative - Far West
  • Silver Award - Best On-Site Staff - Far West

The Stella Awards honor hotels and other hospitality spaces and services that provide meeting professionals with consistent high-quality business. The awards are presented by Northstar Meetings group and selected by a panel of judges managed by Meetings & Conventions and Successful Meetings.

Anaheim Marriot’s 169,662 square feet of flexible meeting space includes 23 event rooms and 44 breakout rooms. The 25,410-square-foot Platinum Ballroom can accommodate up to 3,585 guests for a reception.

The Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) has partnered with Portraits of Hope (POH) to create a mural designed by local youth POH participants. POH is a nonprofit founded with the purpose of providing creative therapy for hospitalized children. With geometric shapes as the core design element of the project, the mural, "Shaping LA" is representative of the future of the city as told by the work of tomorrow's leaders.

 

Westin Long Beach is anticipating wrapping up renovations by June. Since beginning in January, renovations have included updating guest rooms and hallways to bring calm and well-being to travelers' experiences. Fresh, cool color palettes are incorporated in the furniture, and guest rooms will include Heavenly Mattresses and 55-inch televisions.

 

Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel earned the 2018 "Hotel of the Year" award in honor of its high standards of personal service, exceptional staff training and development, dominant market share, outstanding social reputation and high guest satisfaction scores.
