Global DMC Partners congratulates BBC Destination Management’s director of sales, David Room, DMCP, CMP on his successful term as the ADMEI Board President. Rome served as board president from Feb. 13, 2016 through Jan. 21, 207.

“I have always known David to be an inspiring and impactful leader throughout the many years I’ve worked with him,” says Catherine Chaulet, president, Global DMC Partners. “He has constantly taken an active role in driving innovation and education across the DMC industry—and across Global DMC Partners—so he was the perfect fit for the 2016-2017 ADMEI Board President. The entire partnership is so proud of him for all that he has accomplished.”

Rome’s main goal as president was to focus on education, particularly education for international destination management companies. In order to achieve this, he built in complimentary and accessible education programs into the ADMEI Membership.

“It’s the ongoing initiative and drive that David, Cindy and Robert demonstrate that will continue to show the incredible value that DMCs have on the entire meetings industry,” says Chaulet.

The current board for ADMEI includes Cindy Y. Lo, and Robert Lee, DMCP.

Los Angeles has such a robust food and dining scene, it’s rare to be the first at anything these days. But Benny Boy Brewing  appears to have pulled that off with its claim to be the city’s first combined brewery and cidery. Located in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood, just minutes from downtown, Benny Boy is anchored by a spacious outdoor beer and cider garden. Groups are welcome. The 1,200-square-foot cider house is available for private events of up to 51 guests while a full venue buyout accommodates 300.

By a number of measures, hotels are doing well in San Francisco.  For starters, occupancy rates, according to preliminary data, were 67.2% for the month of April, with average daily room rates just above $225. As the San Francisco Travel Association notes, those numbers point to the best-performing month for San Francisco hotels since pandemic restrictions were put in place in March 2020.
