There are few more delectable ways to pass a Thursday afternoon than at a seminar on tasting Champagne and caviar. Especially, as was the case last week, when the Champagne is Taittinger, a great marque Champagne house that’s owned and managed by the family whose name is on the label, and the caviar is from Calvisius, which farms its sturgeon on 150 acres of fresh water ponds in the town of Calvisano, located in Italy’s Brescia province.
It would be a very flat New Year’s Eve celebration that didn’t include some bubbles. And this year, we’ll be combining our love of champagne with our love for California’s Central Coast.
Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa in California is offering a new holiday package, the Holiday Spa and Wellness Escape for Two that is available until Jan. 14.
Priced at $2,000 the package includes a one-bedroom cottage, in-room couple’s spa treatment, a wellness concierge, customized dining menus, a candlelight dinner and a bath butler. The guests can also enjoy champagne upon arrival, personalized bathrobes and arranged transportation. Additionally, they receive two Frangipani product kits and a fully stocked fridge in their room.
Who doesn’t love a good happy hour? And these early evening respites don’t get any happier than the one offered by Petrossian West Hollywood. During last week’s media happy hour mixer, the indulgent bites included caviar burger sliders, smoked trout tacos wrapped in jicama and topped with tequila-infused trout roe, potato tarts with crème fraiche and a dollop of white sturgeon caviar and caviar deviled eggs.
