Looking for a way to still cook meals at home but just don’t have the time to do it all? Home Chef is a food delivery service with a fresh twist. Great for working professionals like planners, the company makes meal planning and grocery shopping a breeze by giving you meal ideas, shopping for you, portioning everything out and delivering fresh ingredients to your doorstep. All you have to do is cook.

Home Chef subscribers can pick from a rotating weekly menu of eight to 10 meal options. Culinary Director Justin Paruszkiewicz and his team create recipes like mushroom risotto, carne asada with mashed black beans, and shrimp and grits. Choices also work well to accommodate a number of dietary restrictions and habits with options for vegetarian, vegan, low-calorie, low-carb, gluten-free, dairy-free and other eating preferences. Recently, the service partnered with protein brand Gardein to provide meatless meal options and also now offers smoothie options for the morning and afternoon, too. Home Chef is based in Chicago but delivers to 30 states in the Midwest and East Coast.

Perhaps your attendees have hopped on those electric bikes and e-scooters that are scattered all over metropolitan areas throughout California. That’s old news, no question. Yet it’s a sure bet they’ve never been on a Vintage Electric Cruz Bike, because only 250 of them ever have been made. Mad Dogs & Englishmen Bike Shop in Carmel has a fleet of these smile generators, as well as a fleet of knowledgeable guides to lead scenic group tours.

Patty Triplett West was a publicity executive at Warner Bros. searching for a meaningful holiday gift for colleagues, when she came up with the idea for Good Karmal. The elegant gourmet caramels come in six flavors—vanilla, sea salt, café caramel, caramel, apple, butter rum and chocolate sea salt. Each handmade confection is individually wrapped with an inspiring quotation, such as “Scatter Joy” (Ralph Waldo Emerson) or “Whatever you are, be a good one” (Abraham Lincoln).
