Santa Rosa welcomes new Hotel E, an upscale boutique property in the heart of downtown featuring 39 guest rooms, a lobby wine bar, and an abundance of unique meeting spaces.

Hotel E's Empire Room offers 18-foot coffered ceilings, large arched windows to welcome natural light, state-of-the-art AV equipment, wireless internet capabilities and can accommodate small groups of five, board meetings up to 25, and 40 for a seated dinner. "Ideally, we see this space being used for retreats, board meetings, and strategy meetings, as well as small intimate wedding receptions," says Debi Dobley, director of sales.

Located just steps from Santa Rosa's restaurants and shops and 15-30 minutes from local winers, the Russian River and the Sonoma Coast, Hotel E is centrally located for groups to explore the city.

"When it comes to team-building, we have so many options—how about a wine blending competition or a scavenger hunt around Old Courthouse Square? We have partnered with local companies to help facilitate these types of experiences," Dobley says.

Dobley says they pride themselves on ensuring that their guests experience exceptional service, meaning meeting planners can rest assured their attendees will be taken care of.

"We have transformed the historic Empire Building into a unique, boutique hotel. Our small, sophisticated space—along with our history—is like nothing else in the area. That, coupled with exceptional service, makes for a memorable experience, and our downtown address puts our guests in the heart of Sonoma Wine Country," she adds.

Sportsmen's Lodge recently revealed its newly renovated pool. Known as the largest pool in San Fernando Valley, the Sportsmen's Lodge pool is an attraction to guests and locals alike.

"We are always looking for ways to improve the guest and visitor experience, and since the pool is our most popular amenity, we like to keep it fresh and update it every couple of years," says General Manager Stephen Chavez.

Navy Proof Food and Spirits, which was part of a $23-million renovation, was recently unveiled at the 469-room Westin Long Beach. Along with the luxurious dining option, modernized guestrooms and a lobby refresh now grace the Southern California hotspot, along with Bluestone Lane, an Australian-inspired café featuring premium coffee beverages.

Catalina Island, consistently ranked one of the best island getaways by various media outlets, has always been a tourist destination. But in the past few years, the island's new additions of meeting facilities and other accommodations have transformed the island from a popular vacation spot to a desirable meeting destination.
