• Meet AC and Sports Commission Honored as Award Finalist

Atlantic City, N.J., has had a fantastic year, especially with regards to sports, and they are now reaping the awards of their hard work.

SportsEvents Media Group—an industry publication that focuses on providing support to sports event planners producing competitions across the country—announced Meet AC and the Atlantic City Sports Commission as one of its 2016 Readers’ Choice Award winners.

Readers nominated destinations and sports venues they believe display exemplary creativity and professionalism with regards to the groups they host. The magazine received nominations throughout the year; top picks were selected based on results from an online voting system.

SportsEvents readers came out in force to nominate and then to vote for their favorite sports events destinations and the host organizations that represent them,” says Carrie O’Connor, the magazine’s editorial coordinator. “Our team is proud to honor the nominees that received the most votes with a 2016 Readers’ Choice Award.”

Winners will be announced in the January 2016 issue of the magazine.

“It is clear, based on our readers’ experiences, that these awards winners are willing to go above and beyond typical service levels to help sports event planners produce outstanding events that participants, their families and spectators will want to experience again and again,” says O’Connor. “It is our privilege to announce their selection by sports events planners as among the best in the United States.”

The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board has debuted a new iteration of discoverlosangeles.com after planning that continued for over a year.

The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (Los Angeles Tourism) is the official destination marketing and sales organization for Los Angeles. Los Angeles Tourism’s digital team built a mobile-first design of the website that will enhance response, search and accessibility for users.

 

Los Angeles reached a historic milestone in 2018, welcoming 50 million visitors for the first time ever and accomplishing the destination’s tourism goal two years early. The new record is 1.5 million visitors higher than 2017’s total, marking the eighth-consecutive year of tourism growth for Los Angeles.  

 

Los Angeles-based Factory Place Hospitality Group has hired Bryan Marn and Janalane Southard to oversee restaurant sales and events at its properties in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Marn joins the FPHG team as events director for the group’s Los Angeles restaurants—The Factory Kitchen, Officine BRERA, and sixth+mill pizzeria and bar. Southard joins the team as restaurant sales manager for the newly opened The Factory Kitchen in The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.
