• Meet Amy Fuller, Fairmont Grand Del Mar

Amy Fuller was recently hired as public relations manager at Fairmont Grand Del Mar.

What are you looking forward to the most in your new role as public relations manager? 

Fairmont Grand Del Mar is such a spectacular resort with so many rich storytelling opportunities. I am looking forward to sharing all of the unique experiences and memorable opportunities our incredible team offers our guests and community. Every day brings new and exciting opportunities my way; no one day is similar, which keeps me on my toes and on the go – which I love!

How do you think past experiences have prepared you for this role? 

I have nearly 10 years of PR experience working with a variety of clientele from F&B and spirits, to fashion and entertainment brands, and sports and lifestyle organizations. The wide array of experience I’ve gained throughout my career has lead me to manage multiple different outlets at Fairmont Grand Del Mar. From golf to restaurants to lifestyle and brand public relations, my versatile experience makes my expertise unique to this resort and brings a different point of view to the role of Public Relations. 

How did you get into the industry? 

I started interning at Women’s Wear Daily in Los Angeles during my college summer’s. I loved working on the editorial side and was fascinated by all of the people (PR people) that were sending us the fabulous clothing and accessories we were calling in for photo shoots. After graduating college, I started looking for PR jobs and got hired at a boutique lifestyle and F&B agency in LA. Since then, I’ve followed my heart and interests, as it relates to my career, from entertainment to golf and now into travel and hospitality.  

What are you hoping to achieve in your new role? 

It is my goal to increase awareness of this incredible property, its first-rate customer service and celebrate all of the hard work the team does on behalf of our guests and community. On its own, Fairmont Grand Del Mar is a trip five-star, five diamond resort and the #1 Luxury Resort in the U.S. I hope to passionately share the uniqueness of the property and encourage others to experience it for themselves. 

What do you enjoy most about the industry?

For me, it’s all about the people. From the kind and diverse group of people I get to work with every day to my engaging and communicating with media, resort guests, the local community, colleagues, etc., social interaction is what inspires me most about the industry. In the end, we are all looking to explore new experiences, try new and familiar things and cultivate memories – my job helps people get to those experiences, things and memories, and the human element of it all is something I am grateful to be part of.

After closing its doors in March 2020, BEI San Francisco reopened in June 2021 as a Trademark Collection by Wyndham hotel. Located next to the Civic Center and Orpheum, the 396-room property debuted a new room category called Co-Live, Co-Work rooms.
