Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel earned the 2018 "Hotel of the Year" award in honor of its high standards of personal service, exceptional staff training and development, dominant market share, outstanding social reputation and high guest satisfaction scores.

"The award is truly a testament to the talented team of associates who consistently go above and beyond the needs of our guests," says Wanda Chan, general manager of the hotel.

Only being open for a year, Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel offers world class luxury with generous meeting spaces, catering, and a restaurant and bar.

"Our chefs are constantly hosting unforgettable chef's table experiences and luxurious moments for all guests, whether a visitor or a local," Chan says. "We were also the first hotel to debut service robots from Aethon, designed to give guests directions and deliver meals, linens or luggage to the guest rooms."

Staff prepare for all guests by making note of their preferences and needs before their stay. Chan says they also strive to make their Chinese guests feel especially at home by offering a number of services in Mandarin and Cantonese.

The hotel boasts 19,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, including an 11,341-square-foot Grand Imperial Ballroom that can accommodate up to 800 guests. They also have a dining room for parties of up to 120 guests with a specifically upscale Cantonese menu. "Our onsite professional event planners also speak Mandarin and Cantonese to accommodate our Chinese guests," Chan says.

From weddings to corporate events, the Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel team goes above and beyond the expectations of standard meetings and events, rightfully earning it the title of "Hotel of the Year."

Sportsmen's Lodge recently revealed its newly renovated pool. Known as the largest pool in San Fernando Valley, the Sportsmen's Lodge pool is an attraction to guests and locals alike.

"We are always looking for ways to improve the guest and visitor experience, and since the pool is our most popular amenity, we like to keep it fresh and update it every couple of years," says General Manager Stephen Chavez.

Navy Proof Food and Spirits, which was part of a $23-million renovation, was recently unveiled at the 469-room Westin Long Beach. Along with the luxurious dining option, modernized guestrooms and a lobby refresh now grace the Southern California hotspot, along with Bluestone Lane, an Australian-inspired café featuring premium coffee beverages.

Catalina Island, consistently ranked one of the best island getaways by various media outlets, has always been a tourist destination.
