Allianz Global Assistance released their Allianz Travel Insurance Vacation Confidence Index on July 5, revealing that Americans are estimated to spend more than $100 billion of spending on summer vacations this summer. Allianz defined a vacation as a "leisure trip of at least a week to a place that is 100 miles or more from home." The Vacation Confidence Index measures Americans' confidence in their ability to take a summer vacation, showing that the projected summer spending for this year is $101.1 billion, compared to 2016's $89.9 billion, a 12.5 percent increase from 2016.
McEvoy Ranch, located in Petaluma, Calif., is setting a precedent. In 2015, Joie de Vivre Hotels embarked on a $12 million renovation and repositioning of the beachfront property of what is now Monterey Tides in Monterey Bay, Calif. The hotel was transformed with colors, adobe texture and modern comforts, creating a coastal aesthetic.
As Monterey Bay’s only beachfront hotel, there are many seaside views. Grays, blues and pops of color were used in all public spaces, including the lobby, pool area and Bar Sebastian, and guestrooms.
Forbes Travel Guide awarded The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort with five stars for the ninth year in a row. The Sanctuary was also received five diamonds from AAA for the 11th year in a row.

In early March 2017, the hotel announced its good news—the Xeros polymer bead-based washing system, certified Gold in Green Seal's stringent GS-33 certification standard for lodging properties, has saved more than 2 million gallons of water year over year.
